What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Coordinator position at Action Pact, Inc?
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Elementary Education is preferred.
An AA in Early Childhood Education is required.
Other: Valid Georgia Driver’s License
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for follow up of noncompliant areas as indicated in the monitoring tool completed by
Quality Assurance Monitors. Inclusive of a corrective plan of action for indicated areas of
noncompliance to be completed immediately thus ensuring specified areas are corrected within the
time line
2. Ensures the center has an established system for identifying the needs of families and provides direct services or
referrals to other agencies to meet the needs of the family, including Crisis Intervention Services
3. Responsible for preparing all reports of school accidents involving children and staff. Inclusive of program forms,
insurance reporting forms and administrative reporting forms meeting the required time limits
4. Responsible for new employee orientation including but not limited to ensuring all employment documents are
accurately completed and forwarded to appropriate designee (G-4, W-4, I-9, Job Description etc.)
5. Ensures compliance in the Transportation Component and coordinates with the Transportation Specialist,
Teachers, Bus Drivers, and Bus Monitors to transport children as needed
6. Responsible for routine monitoring to ensure menus are posted and informs staff of any menu changes
7. Responsible for center enrollee roster ensuring roster is current
8. Ensure that a record keeping system is maintained that indicates current information. Ensures that all participant
information is kept confidential and up-to-date
9. Monitors monthly volunteer hours ensuring accuracy and submits monthly reports by the specified due date
10. Develops a system to encourage parents to volunteer in the Head Start Program
11. Responsible for submitting to the Education Specialist requests for equipment and materials monthly and to report
immediately any needs that would be classified as safety critical
12. Responsible for preparation of work orders and their submission to the Facilities Specialist
13. To supervise all assigned center staff
14. Responsible for reviewing the Head Start Procedures Manual to ensure all center reports are submitted to designated
Central Office staff.

15. To maintain an adequate fiscal management system ensuring accountability of all Head Start Program funds,
property and inventory.
16. Responsible for ensuring the Personnel Policies and Procedures and Program Operating Procedures are carried out
in accordance with HHS guidelines.
17. To conduct and record all staff meetings as indicated in the Head Start Procedures Manual and submit copies
monthly to the Education Specialist.
18. To disseminate information in a timely manner to center staff received from Program Specialist and other sources.
19. To ensure pertinent program information is disseminated in a timely manner to parents and the community.
20. Prior to purchase, submit request for approval for all expenditures. (Utilities not included).
21. Provide immediately upon receipt all requisitions for payment. (Prior to submitting review for accuracy).
22. Responsible for ensuring all training records are submitted to Training Specialist on an ongoing basis.
23. To participate in and maintain an internal communication system ensuring total program incorporation.
24. Responsible for reviewing employee time sheets and employee reimbursement requests to ensure accuracy prior to
submission. Signature required and supporting documentation must be attached.
25. Update on an ongoing basis the center property inventory and annually when requested by central office.
26. Is responsible for the proper administration of medications and ensures proper procedures are followed for record
keeping of such. Must designate a trained staff member to administer medication in his/her absence.
27. Coordinates RIF Book distribution Plan, facilitate and coordinate Parent Orientation meetings with the guidance of
the Head Start Director and the Component Specialists.
28. Assists parents in organizing the schedules for parent meetings and is in attendance at these meetings.
29. Attends workshops and in-service training sessions, and is available when travel for program is required.
30. Coordinate the activities of the Parent Committee; prepare and submit reports of their activities, implement
appropriate recommendations and provide information as needed and requested.
31. Collect, compile check to ensure accuracy and submit daily attendance of participants at assigned center.
32. Promotes parent and community volunteers and actively seeks in-kind donations. Ensures documentation of in-kind
services is processed in a timely manner.
33. Must monitor classrooms on a weekly basis and report findings in a weekly report.
34. Responsible for maintaining supporting documentation to be utilized in the preparation of the Head Start Employee
Performance Evaluations. New Head Start Employee Evaluations must be completed monthly. The Agency Annual
Employee Evaluations must be completed annually.
35. Responsible for approving/disapproving PTO, considering the employee’s PTO balance.
36. Responsible for meeting with individuals conducting ITERS, ECKERS, DECAL Child Care Licensing, etc. site visits.
37. Monitor, document, and follows the procedure for reporting suspected child abuse.

38. Understands, respects, and maintains confidential information regarding children, families, and the program.
39. The use of corporal punishment and isolation as disciplinary measures is strictly prohibited and could result in
immediate termination.
40. Respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations that may occur.
41. All other duties as assigned.
