Description:
Performs duties of Floater, Custodian, and Food Transporter as assigned throughout the day.
Specific Responsibilities for Custodian:
- Responsible for performing duties such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and waxing hallways, stairs, offices, classrooms, walls, and other areas of building
- Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal and decontaminate trash receptacles
- Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures
- Secures area after performing cleaning duties
- Receives and distributes shipments
- Maintain, mix, and distribute supplies as necessary
- Keep inventory of custodial supplies, and restock custodial supplies as necessary throughout facility
- Cleans and waxes floor using industrial-size mops and/or machines
- Strips and polishes floor using buffing machines
- Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks
- Responsible for treating staff, visitors, and children with professional respect
- Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions
- Sweeps sidewalks, porches, and tiled surfaces
- Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas
- Makes simple or temporary repairs to broken furniture and equipment
- Maintains equipment; reports need for painting and minor building or equipment repair to supervisor
- Replaces light bulbs
- Perform daily playgrounds checks as assigned
- Reports safety hazards to supervisor
- Folds and issues clothing and linen when assigned
- Cuts grass, trims shrubs, waters plants, cleans up debris and performs other related duties on the grounds when assigned.
- Performs custodial related duties necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions
- Performs varied custodial tasks necessary for the upkeep of building and grounds
- Responsible for notifying Lead Teacher/Center Coordinator when unsupervised children are detected.
- Responsible for care and accountability of assigned assets including inventory and records of such.
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner
- Promotes parent and community volunteers and actively seeks in-kind donations
- Responsible for the transporting of food to and from the classrooms
- Assist with the serving and cleaning up of meals
- Responsible for returning utensils and serving materials to the preparation site
- Knows guidelines for portions served to enrollees and staff
- Adhere to designated health and safety procedures such as washing hands, wearing gloves, and wearing a hair net
- All other related duties as assigned
Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent required
Other: Valid Georgia Driver’s License
