Japanese / English Translator - Automotive Parts Manufacturing (35318)

A global automotive parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a Bilingual (Japanese / English) Translator to join their facility near Seymour, IN. The ideal candidate has at least business-level language ability in Japanese and English, and proven ability in administration and translation. This is a full-time, direct hire position, and offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k).

Japanese / English Translator Responsibilities:

• Written and oral translation between English and Japanese, translation of documents and emails, bilingual support of Japanese-speaking employees, etc.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and other events for associates and managers
• Handle general administrative tasks, respond to customer inquiries when needed, and update data in company systems
• Assist with executive meetings between upper management, clients, etc.
• Cross-department communication and reporting
• Adherence to company compliance policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Japanese / English Translator Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field preferred, OR high School diploma and equivalent work experience
• Minimum business-level Japanese language ability (JLPT N2 equivalent) required
• Strong experience in Japanese / English interpretation and translation
• 2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments and colleagues in a multicultural environment
• Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
• Strong organizational and time management ability
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
