We are seeking an experienced and driven New Business Development Specialist to join our client’s business development team in the far south suburbs of Toledo, OH. Responsibilities
- Lead sales and account management for assigned OEM clients, driving new business development and revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM customers to identify new opportunities and meet ongoing business needs.
- Manage and coordinate Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for new U.S. customers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal capabilities.
- Analyze key financial data to develop customer-specific quotations and optimize production schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, production, and manufacturing) to ensure efficient and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Provide Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) support and assist with new model production and launch, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct market research on the U.S. automotive industry, preparing sales forecasts and data reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead and develop the sales team, ensuring alignment with business objectives, driving best practices, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Prepare sales reports using MS Excel and PowerPoint, presenting insights and updates to the executive team, including the president.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in new business development, particularly with the Big 3 U.S. automotive manufacturers.
- Proven experience in sales engineering and account management within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of the automotive industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and a basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Solid knowledge and experience in supporting Requests for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
- Practical experience and understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Solid analytical skills for strategic sales data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
- Ability to communicate and present highly technical concepts to prospective customers.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in working with a diverse team in a multicultural environment.
- Avility to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel as needed.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- This position includes working in a manufacturing and/or warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 40 pounds, lift in excess of 40 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
