An international automotive parts manufacturing company is currently searching for an experienced Production Engineer to join their facility in the Alexandria, Indiana area. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing and familiarity with industrial processes and machinery. This is a full-time and direct hire position.
Production Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime
- Research and implement potential new equipment for manufacturing
- Collaborate with other departments regarding projects and process improvement initiatives
- Assist with training production associates on processes and machinery
- Creation of process reports and documentation for upper management
- Machinery installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Production Engineer Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ engineering experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) in an automotive or similar manufacturing environment preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity with industrial systems, machinery and controls, such as PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, etc.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
- Able to intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch & lift up to 25 pounds
