What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Supervisor - Automotive Parts Manufacturing (35204) position at Activ8?
A global automotive parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a Logistics Supervisor to support their office in the Plymouth, Michigan area. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years’ work experience in leadership and logistics operations, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Logistics Supervisor Responsibilities Include:
- Provide leadership and supervision to logistics associates, and participate in training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Act as point of contact for customers regarding order status, logistics tracking, questions and issues, etc. via phone and email
- Communicate with US Customs and maintain related documentation for the import / export of product
- Analyze supplier quality, and work with vendors / 3PL contacts to improve logistics functions
- Update logistics information, purchase orders, and sales orders in the company system(s)
- Participate in demand planning and forecasting of future material needs
- Monitor production and inventory levels to ensure accurate delivery of products
- Plan and implement process improvement initiatives for the logistics department
- Other duties as assigned
Logistics Supervisor Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Supply Chain-related field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
- Previous work experience as a Logistics Supervisor, Supply Chain Coordinator, or similar role; specific experience within the automotive industry is strongly preferred
- Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is a plus
- Good communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
