Overview: We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our gym team. As the first point of contact for our members and visitors, the Front Desk Associate will play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive environment. This position involves administrative duties, customer service, and general support to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the gym.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet members, guests, and potential clients with a warm and welcoming attitude.
- Assist members with inquiries about memberships, services, class schedules, and gym policies.
- Address any member concerns or issues, providing solutions or escalating when necessary.
- Ensure the gym's environment is clean, inviting, and organized.
- Administrative Duties:
- Answer phone calls and emails, providing information or redirecting inquiries to the appropriate team members.
- Manage membership sign-ups, cancellations, and renewals, maintaining accurate records.
- Process payments, including membership dues, retail sales, and any other transactions.
- Keep track of and maintain the inventory for retail products and supplies.
- Scheduling & Coordination:
- Assist with scheduling fitness classes, personal training sessions, and other gym activities.
- Manage appointments and ensure smooth transitions between classes or sessions.
- Keep track of daily member attendance and manage waitlists if necessary.
- Facility Management:
- Monitor the gym's facilities to ensure all equipment is in working order and report any issues to management.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment in the gym, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Enforce gym policies, ensuring a positive experience for all members.
- Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Assist with promotional activities and events, both online and in person.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving gym operations and member experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or a front desk role is preferred, ideally in a fitness or health-related environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of scheduling software and payment processing systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift light to moderate weights.
- Comfortable in a gym environment and familiar with fitness terminology.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 31 per week
