Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Principal Narrative Designer to join the development of a new IP.

As a member of the narrative department, you’ll create memorable characters and compelling plots as well as design and write the many types of fictional stories, dialogues, cinematics, and other texts in our game. As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

You’ll help us by …
- Owning the development of key narrative systems and features in the game
- Taking narrative ownership of one or more regions, factions, and key characters
- Developing a new intellectual property’s foundational lore
- Collaborating with the narrative team and other departments in creating the game’s locations, characters, factions, quests, and plots
- Writing and revising game dialogue and cinematic scripts
- Designing, writing, and implementing text for quests, journals, examinables, NPC chatter, items, abilities, and other narrative systems
- Crafting detailed backstories for the game's locations, factions, and characters
- Becoming proficient in using the game's proprietary narrative tool
- Providing constructive feedback on others’ work
- Acting as a liaison to other departments, conveying the consistent narrative vision of the project
- Assisting with character casting, and preparing scripts for and attending VO and Mocap sessions
- Mentoring staff and associate narrative designers
- Ensuring all tasks are completed according to given specifications and deadlines
- Performing any additional narrative design responsibilities as assigned by Narrative Leadership

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $134,000.00 - $247,900.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
