Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and behavior during procedures.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia induction and recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners on animal care and health maintenance.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Proficient in small animal handling techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Understanding of animal physiology and veterinary terminology.
- Experience with animal catheterization and critical care practices.
- Familiarity with X-ray techniques and equipment operation.
- Strong skills in animal restraint, ideally fear free, and general animal care.
- Previous experience as a CVT is highly desirable.
