Position Overview :

The Trusts and Estates Associate will be involved in a wide variety of estate planning and administration matters, including drafting estate planning documents, handling estate and trust administration, conducting complex tax research, and advising closely-held businesses. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth with mentorship, the potential for partnership, and an opportunity to contribute to the firm's success and culture.

Key Responsibilities :

Drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.

Hands-on involvement with estate and trust administration, managing the administration of decedent’s estates and trusts.

Conducting complex research on tax-related issues, particularly involving estate, gift, and income taxes.

Preparing federal gift and estate tax returns (Forms 706 and 709).

Reviewing court accountings and preparing related petitions for adjudication, trust modifications, and nonjudicial settlement agreements.

Advising owners of closely held businesses on estate and succession planning.

Providing counsel on tax-exempt and charitable planning matters.

Qualifications :

5 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on estate and tax planning, estate administration, and trust administration.

LLM in Taxation preferred, or the willingness to pursue an LLM.

Excellent academic credentials and a strong work ethic.

A demonstrated commitment to a career in trusts and estates law.

Experience with closely-held business planning, tax-exempt organizations, and charitable planning is a plus.

Must be licensed to practice in New Jersey and / or Pennsylvania.
