Sheet Metal Fabrication Estimator
Job Shop contract build-to-print manufacturer of complete parts and assemblies for aerospace and defense systems applications has an opening in its estimating and quoting department. The company is located in Clearwater, Florida.
Scope Of Job.
- Review and interpret customer blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications required to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with sales, process engineering, manufacturing, procurement, scheduling/ planning , to assess customer requirements and ensure alignment with capabilities and timelines.
- Determine if all technical and contractual requirements for manufacturing parts and assemblies are achievable within our normal scope of work.
- Prepare cost breakdowns for labor, material, and outside services.
- Communicate as required with outside services to obtain technical information and pricing.
- Communicate with customers as required to understand technical and commercial requirements.
- Prepare quotations using ERP System.
- Work with department team members to improve quoting efficiencies, practices, and processes.
Qualifications:
- Strong Technical understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes used manufacturing aerospace quality parts.
- Technical understanding of CNC machining and mil-spec painting is a plus.
- Ability to read engineering part drawings, to collect requirements and assess tolerances required.
- Technical ability to breakdown welded fabrications and mechanical-assembly drawings.
- Ability to use SolidWorks.
- Minimum 5-years of experience in a similar sheet metal shop estimating role or sheet metal shop process engineering role.
