What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at ACTS LLP?
ACTS Law is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys in all stages of the litigation process. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
- Manage case files and maintain organized electronic document repositories.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to schedule hearings, depositions, and other proceedings
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Review medical records, deposition transcripts, and other relevant documents
- Assist in client interviews and gathering relevant case information
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case-specific issues
- Provide administrative support as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation/personal injury
- Strong understanding of California civil procedure and litigation practices
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
- Professional and courteous to clients and staff
- Demonstrate good ethics, judgment and maintains the confidentiality of files
