What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal, Litigation position at ACV?
Who we are looking for:
As a Litigation Paralegal at ACV, you’ll be a key member of our legal department supporting the Litigation team. You will assist with a variety of projects, including litigation support, matter management, e-discovery, budget management, and more. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, flexibility and willingness to learn, and attention to detail. We’re looking for a proactive self-starter who enjoys working cross-functionally.
What you will do:
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Assist with e-discovery, including responding to discovery requests, third-party subpoenas, and regulatory agency requests, fact gathering, collecting relevant documents and information, documenting e-discovery efforts, and e-discovery processes
Work with external vendors to facilitate the export of electronic data for storage, review, and production
Coordinate responses to third-party subpoena requests
Maintain internal litigation tracking tools
Assist in pre-litigation disputes, including gathering relevant materials and preparing draft responses to litigation threats
Preparing and tracking legal holds and preservation notices
Manage case calendars, organize documents and pleadings, prepare team agendas, schedule meetings, and other administrative tasks
Help scale processes for the Litigation team by creating and maintaining internal templates, guidelines, and playbooks
Assist with managing budgets
Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Paralegal Certificate preferred
6 years’ relevant experience as a litigation paralegal in a combination of both law firm and in-house legal environment
E-discovery experience, including with various e-discovery tools
Exceptional written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Self-motivator, with the ability to prioritize a variety of competing matters
Comfortable assisting litigation counsel on complicated, sensitive, and nuanced issues, including both commercial and employment litigation
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external clients and cross-functional partners
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Slack, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Docusign, and any practice-related software like Brightflag, OpenText, Relativity, Google Vault, Onna, Legal Hold Pro, Exterro, etc
Specific experience with Brightflag, OpenText, and Google Vault is preferred
