Congestion Management Supervisor
Ada County Highway District is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Congestion Management Supervisor in the Congestion Management Department.
Job Summary
This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary range. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, preparing budgets, and overseeing the design and construction of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic control system projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the activities and staff of the Congestion Management section of the Traffic Operations Department, including the Traffic Management Center (TMC).
- Apply professional engineering knowledge and skills to traffic-related engineering projects.
- Prepare and manage the fiscal budget for the section and assist in the preparation of funding proposals.
- Oversee the design and construction of ITS, TMC operations, and other traffic control system projects.
- Investigate and resolve traffic operations and ITS related problems and complaints.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of Traffic Engineering principles, practices, and techniques, as well as traffic signal operations and ITS communications systems and equipment.
- Experience in management principles and practices with the ability to supervise engineers and technicians.
- Ability to operate computer systems and hardware/software related to ITS and traffic signals.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Active Idaho Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Idaho Driver's License.
- Ability to operate ACHD vehicles in the completion of duties.
