What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Testing Specialist position at Ada County Highway District?
We are seeking a skilled Materials Testing Specialist to join our team at the Ada County Highway District. As a key member of our Material Testing Lab, you will be responsible for conducting sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete to ensure compliance with district standards and specifications.
In this role, you will interact frequently with district inspectors and contractors, providing technical support and guidance as needed. Your strong knowledge of construction and engineering practices, combined with your ability to perform complex mathematical equations, will be invaluable in this position.
To be successful in this role, you must have current WAQTC certifications and considerable experience with laboratory and materials testing equipment, practices, and procedures. Additionally, you should be able to lift/move up to 100 lbs frequently and be willing to work rotating weekend shifts and shift changes with 24-hour notice.
