Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled General Equipment Operator to join our Maintenance division's Cloverdale Grade Crew. As a key member of the team, you will perform a variety of tasks related to road maintenance, including operating heavy equipment and repairing asphalt on roadways.
In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for responding to winter weather conditions and emergencies, which may require working outside normal hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment, including dump trucks, water trucks, rollers, loaders, air compressors, jackhammers, and winter maintenance equipment.
- Repair and replace asphalt on roadways, including potholes, trench repairs, shoulder barrow ditch repairs, chip sealing, crack sealing, and other road maintenance tasks.
- Respond to winter weather conditions and emergencies, working outside normal hours as needed.
Requirements
- Candidates must be able to obtain an Idaho Class A CDL license within the first six months of employment or currently possess one from another state.
- A tanker endorsement must also be obtained within 30 days.
- Experience driving/operating dump trucks and loaders is preferred, as well as knowledge of asphalt placement and compaction, chip sealing, crack sealing, and other road maintenance techniques.
