Reports to: Landscaping Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced and skilled individual to join our Landscaping Crew. The role requires performing specialized landscaping tasks and assisting with projects. This position is ideal for someone with experience in groundskeeping, enjoys working outdoors and has an eye for detail.
Hours of operation: Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm with overtime. Some Saturday’s required due to inclement weather.
Key Responsibilities:
- Landscape Installation: Assist in the installation of new lawns, plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs.
- Hardscaping: Assist with the construction and maintenance of patios, walkways, fences, retaining walls, irrigation systems, and other hardscape features.
- Lawn Care: Perform and manage tasks including mowing, dethatching, edging, trimming, aerating, overseeding, and applying pesticides or herbicides.
- Plant Care and Maintenance: Perform advanced tasks such as pruning, fertilization, and seasonal plantings to maintain the health and appearance of landscapes.
- Grounds Maintenance: Raking leaves, mulching, and removing debris from grounds to ensure a clean and presentable landscape.
- Irrigation System Maintenance: Assist in installation of irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering of landscaped areas.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operating landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.
- Snow Removal (Seasonal): Removing snow and ice from pathways and driveways, as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to all company and site safety regulations and policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Other Duties: Perform other landscaping-related duties as directed by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Certifications: Any landscaping, horticulture, or pesticide application certifications are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Operating and maintaining a wide range of landscaping tools and equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of plant care, pest control, fertilization, and seasonal maintenance
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Basic carpentry, masonry, or construction skills.
