Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures that the facility’s equipment (filler, capper, labeler, case sealer, case printers, drop packers, palletizers ) and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
• Conducts routine facility inspections, logs equipment operating parameters and adjusts equipment as required.
• Execute the facility’s maintenance program; identifies and analyzes equipment or machinery failures and takes corrective actions.
• Provides technical training to production team members.
• Support the coordination of work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
• Assure that all safety systems are working properly, fans, alarms, gas detectors, fire suppression, etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.
• Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 5 years mechanic experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess an active forklift certification.
• Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
