What are the responsibilities and job description for the Porter - Service position at Adamec Harley-Davidson?
Essential Functions
- Operate the company vehicle with, and without, the trailer;
- Assist with delivery of inventory from other dealers or distribution;
- Maintain inventory of charged motorcycle batteries;
- Re-fill stock of oil, electrolyte material, or other supplies, as needed;
- After service is complete detail and refuel vehicles to prepare for the next stage;
- Communicate vehicle status to Service Advisors, or Service Managers, upon completion;
- Use appropriate equipment to clean and maintain the shop area, and facility;
- Support, promote, and get involved in the Help Sell, and Motorcycle Referral, programs;
- Act as an Ambassador for the dealership, and the Harley-Davidson brand.
Job Specifications
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Frequently moves motorcycles weighing greater than 500 to over 950 lbs.;
- Frequently loads and unloads vehicles being delivered;
- Occasionally work more than 8-hours per day, and on the weekends;
- Occasionally move or transport objects that weigh > 50 lbs.
- Occasionally operate hand-held, and other machinery or equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and other toxic chemicals.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma, or equivalent;
- Maintain a valid driver license with motorcycle endorsement, and clean driving record.
