GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of a road crew, performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to road building and maintenance of road building equipment and facilities.
DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maintain constant awareness of ongoing operations in your surrounding aware while safely and efficiently completing required physical tasks
- Tasks may include, but are not limited to jack hammering, shoveling, cleaning, traffic control or assisting with any other milling operation related task
- Must be able to follow instructions and have a good work ethic
- Have the ability and willingness to learn new things
- Able to work various shifts (Day/Night), overtime and weekends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- The ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a day to day basis;
- The ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detail
- The ability to stand for long periods of time. (10-12 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma/GED.
