What Success Looks Like In This Job
The Adams County Sheriff's Office is seeking candidates who are interested in volunteering for the Posse auxiliary as a commissioned non-certified volunteer. The Posse volunteers will provide mounted equestrian assistance to the Sheriff's Office. They will represent the agency in community functions such as parades and special events. There will be opportunities for the Posse volunteers to assist in securing livestock for safety reasons and owner notification.
Examples of Duties for Success
- The non-certified commissioned Posse is comprised of volunteers who provide mounted equestrian assistance for the Sheriff’s Office.
- Posse members may be called out for disposition of loose livestock.
- May be deployed at special events and in parades.
- Drive Posse truck and trailer to community functions.
- Perform at parades and processions.
- Called out for disposition of loose livestock.
- Pose for Public Relation Photograph.
- Write supplemental reports.
- Drive a one-ton truck and horse trailer.
Qualifications for Success
To be considered for the Posse position, candidates must:
- Must be 18 years of age minimum.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Have at least 20/40 corrected vision.
- Be able to demonstrate equestrian proficiency at Grade Level I or II.
- Possess a horse and transportation for the horst to report to events.
