Position Summary:
The Academy Instructor assists and teaches courses regarding a variety of subjects such as proper weapon use, laws, regulations, and other subject areas at our training facility and for special events.- Examples of Duties for Success
- Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders
- Perform firearms and safety training for employees and volunteers
- Assist and teach courses regarding proper weapon usage, laws, regulations, and other topics
- Perform Deputy duties at parades, processions, demonstrations, community activities, and sporting events as needed
- Check and report on deficient streetlights, signs, road surfaces and other facilities that serve the public
- Provide professional level instruction to Academy Cadets and employees related to law enforcement operations and tactics
- Serve as a role model when in instructor role
- Provide assistance to Academy staff in training capacity
- Will not be required to attend trainings for P.O.S.T. Certified Officers
- Perform other duties that are assigned

- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must have correctable vision to 20/40

If a conditional offer is given, you will be asked to:

Depending on the position, a psychological exam may also be scheduled

Academy Cadet and Certified positions may include other components, such as a physical agility test.
