The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll operations, addressing employee inquiries professionally and with good customer service, and collaborating effectively with the HR team. This position requires an extremely detailed oriented person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.
Your Day-to-Day
- Process weekly payroll for our approximately 1,800 employees using ADP WorkforceNow.
- Review, verify, and reconcile timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation in accordance with company policies and labor laws.
- Professionally address employee questions related to pay, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping systems.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management as needed.
- Manage administrative aspects of MVR and Drug Testing process.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of all employee payroll information.
- Work closely with HR and store management teams to address payroll-related discrepancies and updates (e.g., new hires, terminations, promotions).
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance.
- Manage payroll tax filings, garnishments, and other related deductions.
- Manage and/or assist with audits, payroll system updates, and year-end processes (W-2 forms, 1095C forms, etc.).
What you bring to the Farm
- 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with payroll software systems, specifically ADP WorkforceNow.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams.

- Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
- Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about the work Adams’ does
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, or bending to retrieve files or assist team members.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally for file boxes or office supplies.

- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
