Business Development Specialist
Job Summary:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within the commercial millwork and cabinetry industry. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with architects, contractors, and developers, and collaborating with internal teams to secure and manage projects. The ideal candidate has industry experience, a strong network, and a passion for high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial millwork and cabinetry.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, general contractors, designers, and developers.
- Research industry trends, project pipelines, and potential clients to expand market reach.
- Generate leads and follow up to secure bids and contracts.
- Collaborate with estimators and project managers to assist with proposals and pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and brand visibility.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to stay ahead in the industry.
- Work closely with engineering, and production teams to align client needs with manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensure smooth project handoff from sales to project management teams.
- Provide client feedback to improve service offerings and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the commercial millwork and cabinet industry.
- Strong understanding of millwork, cabinetry materials, and fabrication processes.
- Established network of industry contacts (architects, contractors, developers, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and estimating software (a plus).
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, job site visits, and industry events.
