Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Transactional Associate Attorney located in Plymouth, MI. The Transactional Associate Attorney will be responsible for drafting legal solutions assigned by Partners, meeting with clients to conduct intake interviews, and conducting legal research, as necessary. Additional day-to-day tasks include answering phones, fielding client questions to the extent reasonable, maintaining your own schedule and tasks in an organized manner, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and collaborating with other attorneys and professionals within the firm.
Qualifications
- Drafting. Drafting. Drafting. This position's focus is on the ability to draft documents intelligently, intelligibly, and knowing the difference between the two. Writing skills are key.
- Ability to learn, and an interest in learning our firm’s practice areas. The Associate is not expected to be able to arrive at a final legal solution to any given problem, but must be able to implement such a solution, when assigned.
- Advanced proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken, is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven. If you are assigned a task, it needs to be completed from start to client-facing finish, in a timely manner.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan, or in another State with the ability to obtain one quickly (within 6 months).
- Experience in transactional law is a plus, but not necessary. This is an entry-level position open to applicants with 0-5 years of legal practice behind them.
