Litigation Paralegal - Sacramento Office
A well-establish firm is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal for their Sacramento office. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
This Paralegal will be expected to perform a variety of duties to assist attorneys in the Litigation Department. This role involves developing and implementing case management strategies, including discovery, expert witness identification and preparation, and trial preparation. The Paralegal will maintain positive contact with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, co-counsel, experts, and service providers while ensuring strict confidentiality of client matters. Additionally, the Paralegal must keep accurate time records for client billing and stay up to date with litigation management software and technology to enhance client service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Thorough knowledge of Federal and State court rules and procedures
- Extensive experience with trial director preferred
- Experience running complex document review projects for both civil and criminal litigation matters
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys to develop discovery plans and document review protocols
- Extensive experience preparing and serving subpoenas in both State and Federal court
- Proficiency in Relativity, RelOne, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Trial Director, Sanction, Lexis CaseNotebook, Westlaw/Lexis
- Strong proofreading skills for context, grammar, and spelling
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Experience drafting all types of written discovery
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to strategize, develop, and execute case management strategies
