SUMMARY

Under general direction, the Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for designing and implementing an organized, individualized program for acquisition of functional skills that will lead to strengthened parenting abilities for individuals served. This is done in accordance with regulations and requirements of the agency and applicable governmental and other regulatory agencies. This is a management position that is responsible for providing supervision to the Case Management and Direct Support Staff/Parent Coach teams.

The position is grant funded through September 30, 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Case Manager Supervisor will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as a liaison between Agency, ACS, and families. Serves as advocate and provider for all issues pertaining to individuals receiving services.

  • Develops programs for person’s served.

  • Manages Case Manager and Direct Support Staff/Parent Coach.

  • Implements active treatment plans for program participants.

  • Participates in individual program planning process.

  • Orients, trains, evaluates, delegates, supervises work of and recommends hiring and disciplining of subordinate staff.

  • Recognizes and observes important relationships with Direct Support Staff/Parent Coaches for participants’ program development and referral for other kinds of assistance as needed.

  • Maintains attendance and other required records/paperwork.

  • Carries out basic administrative tasks related to caseload and other selected assignments as directed by Program Director or Program Coordinator.

  • Plans group, individual activities and assigns staff to implement.

  • Trains and instructs support staff in daily routine, program plan and general procedures and practices of group.

  • Attends regularly scheduled supervisory staff meetings

  • Participates in scheduled in-service training programs.

  • Provides support/coverage as needed.

  • Selects and utilizes educational materials.

  • Teaches person’s served to become more independent.

  • Performs other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As situations present themselves, the employee must be sensitive to program needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.

  • Can generate excitement and interest in ADAPT.

  • Strong initiative, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and travel to, and between programs and administrative locations.

  • Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) exeprience preferred. A strong understanding of OPWDD regulations and best practices for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, plus a minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Be familiar with the workings of New York City’s child welfare and I/DD systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Bi-lingual Spanish speaking preferred.
