What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Automation Sales Specialist position at Adaptek Systems?
Adaptek Systems is a Fort Wayne based company specializing in the design and build of custom automated machinery that includes robotics, lasers, material handling, precision assembly and testing systems. We are seeking an experienced sales and targeting professional to research Midwest markets and present Adaptek Systems to best fit manufacturing customers. The ideal candidate would have experience in custom manufacturing automation and be able to target potential growth opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
The main goal of this position will be to seek out customers that need our unique and specialized solutions to improve their manufacturing operations. With support from our internal sales and engineering staff, understand the customer’s needs and work to present a solution that offers an acceptable ROI and delivery time. While the majority of time will be spent in typical sales activities, a good understanding of marketing and prospecting methods will be required. Travel to various prospects in the states of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois as needed from first introduction through close of sale.
Those with a dynamic personality, excellent communication and writing skills along with the ability to build relationships will be strongly considered.
Marketing and prospecting responsibilities:
· Fully understand the core capabilities and market direction of the company.
· Use existing internal tools, data base or new methods to research, categorize, and expand the customer base with specific automation objectives in focus.
· Offer creative input as to new opportunities to expand sales and win new business.
Development and sales activities:
· Target, contact and present our company advantages and capabilities to a wide range of potential customers.
· Be capable of building long term relationships, with scheduled touch points, to build confidence and presence.
· Use a number of available presentation options such as PowerPoint, videos, etc. to demonstrate significant company benefits, team capabilities and excellent success record match to understood customer needs.
· Function as a key representative as proposal and quote opportunities arise, gathering support documentation and the like to start the proposal process.
· Be part of the presentation team to deliver high quality proposals to the customer matched to their specific automation solution.
· Remain a key contact during the decision and purchasing cycle to help win best fit opportunities.
· Assist or be the key individual to close sales to meet company goals.
