Adaptive Minds Coaching is seeking an IISS (Intensive Individual Support Services) technician in Columbia, MD. This critical position requires a dedicated individual who can provide specialized support and care to a family member with autism. Responsibilities:
1. One-on-One Support: Work closely with children with autism on a one-on-one basis, tailoring support to their unique needs and abilities.
2. Implement Individualized Plans: Follow individualized treatment and behavior plans designed for each child, promoting their progress and development.
3. Skill Development: Assist in the development of essential life skills, including communication, social interaction, and daily living activities.
4. Behavior Management: Utilize effective behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and address challenging behaviors when they arise.
5. Data Collection: Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and behaviors, ensuring data is regularly updated and shared with the appropriate team members.
6. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other professionals, including special education teachers, therapists, and parents, to create a comprehensive support network for each child.
7. Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of the children in your care, both at home and in the community.
8. Flexibility: Be adaptable to changing needs and schedules, providing support where and when it is needed most.
Qualifications:
· Have volunteer or employment experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities as a service provider or as a family member for a minimum of 100 hours.
· Access to reliable transportation is a MUST;
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping children with special needs.
· Ability to follow and implement individualized plans and instructions effectively.
· Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
· Willingness to undergo background checks and other clearance requirements as necessary.
The hourly rate for this role is anticipated to be: $24.00-$26.00
