Position Title: Program Coordinator

Position Description:The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the planning, recruitment, execution, and evaluation of adaptive sports programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, inclusive experiences. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of programs serving individuals with disabilities, Veterans, families, volunteers, donors, community members, and partner organizations.
The primary focus of this role will be on the paddling and skiing programs, while also providing support across all aspects of adaptive programming. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively to enhance participant engagement, optimize program efficiency, and foster strong community relationships to further the organization’s mission
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Program Executive Director and lead volunteers in establishing program-specific goals and objectives, including identifying, developing, and implementing program opportunities.
- Work with the Program Executive Director to determine necessary resources, including program supplies, repair parts, venue, participant marketing, and volunteers.
- Implement ASC program delivery procedures at all events as detailed in the pre-event, event delivery, and post-event procedures.
- Assist in the provision of appropriate training to all program volunteers and interns.
- Ensure that high-quality programs are delivered effectively to all athletes.
- Assist the Program Executive Director in the program planning process, including calendar postings, equipment loading, participant recruitment, communication with partner staff, and venue setup.
- Assist the Program Executive Director and lead volunteers in program delivery, including registration, risk management and safety, volunteer management, adaptive sport delivery, and venue tear down.
- Assist in post-event duties, including storage and unloading of equipment, equipment repairs, data entry, reporting, and follow-up with participants, volunteers, and other community members as necessary.
- Ensure that appropriate safety and risk management protocols are followed as they relate to specific programs.
- Ensure that all essential program equipment is available and in good working order for events. This includes securing additional equipment when necessary, regular maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Assist in actively recruiting participants for programs, utilizing all of the resources available, both human and technology, to maximize event participation.
- Provide direct client services, support, and instruction in all programs as needed.
- Work cohesively with the broader team to contribute to a dynamic work environment and exceptional program delivery.
- Follow policies and procedures as defined by ASC manuals.
- Report concerns and issues directly to the supervisor.
- Engage in all other duties as assigned.
Time Allocation:
- The Program Coordinator will provide direct support for ASC programs, with 40% of the time spent on internal operations and the other 60% in the field, directly leading the programming and volunteers.
This is not a remote position.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Sports or Recreation Management, Adapted Physical Education, Recreation Therapy, or a related field.
- Substantial knowledge of and experience in adaptive sports and recreation, disability awareness, and sport-specific disciplines.
- Certifications in PSIA, ACA, PMBIA, or other adaptive areas are preferred.
- Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
- The ability to prioritize projects to enhance workflow using independent judgment in making decisions that affect the day-to-day operations of ASC.
- Has the ability to work with a variety of people, including potential sponsors, event managers, volunteers, participants with special needs, the Board of Directors, and program staff.
- First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Two weeks of paid vacation, eight sick days, nine holidays, and employer-sponsored health insurance.
