The Billing Specialist will be expected to contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our office’s billing practices while adhering to relevant industry regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit dental and medical billing claims, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Review patient records meticulously to verify that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to address and resolve discrepancies in medical records, diagnoses, or coding.
- Proactively follow up on unpaid claims and manage the resolution of any billing disputes or claim denials.
- Stay current with evolving dental and medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance billing regulations to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Prepare and generate detailed billing reports, assist with the reconciliation of accounts receivable, and identify any outstanding payment issues.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure efficient workflow, compliance with organizational policies, and timely processing of claims.
- Continuously monitor and implement any changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices, ensuring all claims are submitted in accordance with updated laws and standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental and medical billing.
- In-depth knowledge of dental and medical coding systems and classifications, with the ability to apply these systems accurately and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of dental and medical terminology, healthcare processes, and insurance protocols.
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, billing software, and general office applications.
