Position Summary:
This is a market facing position that will represent and lead our healthcare business in North America. The Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for market development and profitable revenue growth by engaging in opportunities and winning new business with OEM’s and contract manufacturers in the MedTech, Healthcare, Pharma, and BioTech/Life Sciences markets.
This position requires an energetic, self-starter with a hunger to chase and close new business generated from existing customer relationships, prospecting and networking, leveraging supplier relationships, cold calls, website leads, direct marketing, trade shows, and other outreach tactics. A hunter mentality, strong communication and leadership skills, and ability to engage and build relationships with Sourcing/Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, and C-Suite is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with President and in-house marketing team to create target customer lists and lead the go-to-market plan to uncover opportunities in North America.
Network, build strong relationships, develop opportunities, and win new business with existing and prospective OEM and CM customers in the MedTech, Healthcare, Pharma, BioTech/Life Science space.
Work with Field Sales, Inside Sales, Engineering, and Estimating on RFQ’s and on-boarding new customers. Coordinate the transition of new business and account management to the New Product Release (NPR) Team upon receipt of initial orders and provide support as required through production launch.
Attend trade shows, supplier events, and industry gatherings to build brand awareness and relationships.
Engage with strategic material suppliers to share insight about the market and develop strategies to win new business.
Build and maintain a strong new business development revenue pipeline, track project status in CRM, and provide progress reports as required.
Manage, mentor and grow sales team.
Qualifications / Skills Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 3 years of US healthcare sales and business development (hunting) experience, preferably with exposure to single use medical devices.
Experience and progressive track record of prospecting and closing sales in the MedTech and healthcare space; selling to medical OEM’s and Contract Manufacturers (CM’s).
High level of professionalism with the ability to effectively present technical and commercial information to sourcing/procurement, engineering, operations, and C-Suite.
Experience selling or using adhesives, films, foams, fibers, non-woven, and other flexible materials.
Strong organization, presentation, and project management skills.
Strong listening skills and ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
Leadership skills - ability to lead projects and guide teams.
Highly responsive with high attention to detail.
The ability to travel up to 35% of the time within North America, primarily in the US.
Skilled at negotiation with a high degree of professionalism in everything they do.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience using CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics, others) to track sales pipeline activity.
Demonstrate ability to actively listen, communicate, present, influence, and motivate
effectively at all levels of an organization.
Strong business acumen. Detail oriented, with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to respond to both commercial and technical questions from customers.
Proactive team player that is motivated to win and grow the business profitably.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and requirements.
Ability to work independently.
Qualifications Desired:
Experience in the printing, converting, or contract manufacturing industry that services Medtech, healthcare, Pharma or BioTech/Life Science?
Engineering/technical education or work experience would be helpful.
