The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a assisted living facility. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the diverse needs of residents, including those in long-term care, memory care, and dementia care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and a strong background in recreational therapy, social work, or event planning.
Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring they are engaging and appropriate for varying levels of ability.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other departments to tailor activities to individual resident preferences and care plans.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and exercise classes.
- Organize special events and outings to promote social interaction among residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on activity preferences.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and best practices within the facility.
Requirements
- Experience in recreational therapy or related fields such as social work or event planning is preferred.
- Familiarity with the unique needs of residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, long-term care settings, memory care units, or dementia care environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.45 - $18.31 per hour
