Addison Central School District is seeking a full-time Special Educator to provide specialized services, 7-12, within an ACSD alternative program. The Special Educator in this program provides specialized services and case management for a small group of students alongside a Special Education Director, BCBA, Clinical Social Worker, and a variety of support staff. This alternative program is designed to provide students with both specialized instruction and access to experiences at our middle and high school as well as the larger Addison County community.
Applicants should be licensed teachers with experience implementing evidence-based specialized instruction and providing case management services for students and families.
Candidates must have strong collaboration and communication skills, experience supervising paraprofessionals, and a strong focus on the team process. Applicants must be reliable, flexible, patient, energetic, willing to learn new skills, and passionate about working with and supporting students.
Qualified applicants should have experience at the elementary and/or middle school level, have an understanding of standards-based instruction, and a belief that each student can meet high expectations. Applicants should be licensed teachers with experience implementing evidence-based academic or social emotional instruction and/or programs.
AOE Special Education license required.
