Location : Phoenix, AZ
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000 DOE
Job Description : Electrical Estimating Manager
This role is responsible for overseeing financial budgets and estimates to competitively and profitably secure electrical construction or design projects. The position leads the estimating function for the electrical division, determining which projects to pursue and ensuring the preparation of precise cost estimates across diverse sectors. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Reports To : Director-Level Management
Manages : Electrical Estimating Team
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Lead estimating and bid strategies, selecting projects to estimate and ensuring alignment with company financial goals. Conduct bid meetings and presentations as needed.
- Identify potential project risks and proactively develop alternative solutions using industry expertise and sound judgment.
- Manage and mentor an estimating team, ensuring proper staffing levels and professional development. Foster a culture of high-quality work, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates based on project documents. Ensure vendor and subcontractor bids are appropriately solicited and evaluated.
- Analyze market trends and material costs to maintain competitive pricing strategies.
- Facilitate project hand-off meetings with internal teams, ensuring a clear understanding of cost estimates, project details, and execution plans.
- Develop and refine estimating systems and best practices, integrating innovative approaches to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships within the industry. Actively participate in industry events and networking opportunities.
- Promote and uphold safety standards in all estimating and project planning activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
