The Customs Brokerage Specialist is responsible for managing import shipments, preparing accurate Customs entries, and maintaining compliance with US Customs and government regulations. This role also includes clear communication with importers, carriers, and agents to ensure seamless shipment processing and resolution of any issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit US Customs entries in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Communicate proactively with importers, carriers, warehouses, and other parties to maintain shipment visibility.
- Review and organize incoming documents to meet reporting requirements for US Customs and other government agencies.
- Maintain importer files and provide necessary documentation to agencies such as the FDA and USDA.
- Engage compliance resources to resolve issues and process required documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service and timely updates regarding shipment status and clearance.
- 1 year of entry writing experience
- Familiarity with US Customs classifications and compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Cargowise is a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and interest in career advancement.
