Purpose

The Maintenance Manager is energetic, organized, and results-driven. This role is responsible for managing maintenance technicians across multiple locations and ensuring timely resolution of maintenance issues. The Maintenance Manager collaborates closely with operational teams to maintain safe, clean, and fully functioning facilities that enhance the member experience.

Key Responsibilities

Deliverables :

  • Drive performance and consistency for maintenance operations across multiple locations.
  • Oversee performance management and development of Senior Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and training of maintenance team members.
  • Ensure operational excellence by traveling to locations to monitor maintenance activities and provide support.
  • Management :

  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure accountability and success.
  • Recognize strong performance and provide discipline when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Senior Technicians for contractor work and workflow management.
  • Select vendors and manage resources and supplies.
  • Mentor team members to develop leadership skills and technical expertise.
  • Administration :

  • Approve timecards, PTO requests, and mileage reimbursements.
  • Review and approve invoices and payments.
  • Track certifications and compliance requirements.
  • Provide updates on projects and staffing to leadership.
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules and ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of management experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with pool and spa maintenance.
  • Equipment maintenance experience (3-5 years preferred).
  • Ability to operate general maintenance tools and equipment (e.g., pallet jack, dolly, scissor lift).
  • Knowledge of safety and maintenance procedures.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to climb ladders, lift 50-70 pounds, and operate maintenance tools.
  • Visual ability to test pool chemicals and other maintenance needs.
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel by car and / or airplane up to 50% of the time.
  • Work Environment :

  • Work is performed in a variety of locations, including gyms, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional loud noise.
  • Requires flexibility, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
  • Non-sedentary work that involves standing, walking, lifting, and problem-solving.
