What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Addison Group?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm. This candidate should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized.
Responsibilities
- Organizes and prepares closing checklists and documentation for financing, real estate, and business transactions; manages the preparation and distribution of closing binders, both physical and electronic, and provides general support during the closing process as needed by attorneys.
- Drafts documents related to commercial financing, including mortgages, closing certificates, mortgage tax affidavits, mortgage releases, financing statements, amendments, initial and amended articles of incorporation, shareholder and director resolutions, as well as other corporate formation documents; prepares deeds and title-related documents for attorney review and approval.
- Reviews title commitments, surveys, and other title-related documents, coordinating with title companies and surveyors for real estate transactions.
- Interacts with various local, state, and federal agencies to research, gather information, obtain documents, and file or record necessary paperwork.
- Conducts due diligence searches and organizes documents for due diligence reviews, ensuring proper coordination and preparation for review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or Associate's degree and at least two year's prior experience; or High School Diploma or its equivalent and at least five year's prior experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Prefers a certification as a Paralegal.
- Minimum 3 years of transactional experience
