About Our Client:
Addison Group is hiring a Paralegal – Collections for our client, a mid-sized, multi-state law firm specializing in creditor’s rights and HOA collections. Due to an increase in caseload, they are looking to add a skilled legal professional to their team.
Job Description:
The Paralegal will support attorneys in handling collections for Homeowners Associations (HOAs). This role involves drafting legal documents, managing case workflows, and ensuring compliance with collections-related legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have prior collections experience within a law firm setting and be comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of HOA collections, including litigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Manage high-volume case workflows and maintain organization.
- Review incoming correspondence and determine appropriate actions.
- Ensure accurate billing and time tracking (approximately 100 billable hours per month).
- Maintain compliance with FDCPA regulations (training provided).
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in collections or legal support, preferably in a law firm.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program (certifications are a plus).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal software such as Prolaw or Clio (preferred but not required).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, strong organization and time management skills.
