Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior FP&A Specialist with a background in government finance to join our team in Arlington, Virginia (hybrid). This is a temp-to-perm position, offering an initial contract period with the opportunity for a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The role does not include direct people management responsibilities but requires a strong focus on financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, with a specific focus on government-related projects and compliance requirements.
- Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to support decision-making, ensuring alignment with government regulations and organizational goals.
- Government Compliance: Ensure financial activities and reporting adhere to relevant government regulations and standards. Stay updated on changes in government finance policies and guidelines.
- Data Management: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including government agencies, to gather financial information, address inquiries, and provide insights.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance) or certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong background in government finance and compliance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems). Experience with government accounting systems and regulations is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
