What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Educator position at Addison Northwest School District?
Addison Northwest School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE certified Special Educator to support students with a variety of special needs for the FY26 school year. Experience integrating K-3 students with emotional/behavioral challenges into classroom life. Social/sensory skills are a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
- Have the ability to work with both general and special educators to instruct and support students with multiple disabilities.
- Must have the ability to develop, modify and accommodate curriculum to address the needs of students with a variety of developmental challenges.
- The ability to implement modified curriculum within the classroom setting as well as in a pull out setting.
- The ability to follow a behavioral plan as needed for students' success within the mainstream setting. A
- strong background in both literacy and math instruction at the early grades and ages.
- Have the ability to be flexible and be a team player.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written are a must.
- Ability to supervise and effectively schedule paraeducators
