Job Title: Registrar I (Golf)
Department: Golf
Reports to: Golf Operations Supervisor
Job Class: Regular Part-time, Non-exempt
Work Hours: Variable schedule, up to 19 hours per week
Compensation: $13.00 an hour (New pay rate $15.00 starting January 2024)
Position Summary:
Under general direction and supervision, the registrar will serve as the "first impression" of the Addison Park District to the public. This key position will serve as the face of the agency to greet, assist, and register patrons for programs and events at Links and Tees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets the public in a courteous and respectful manner both in person and via telephone, answering any questions as needed.
- Registers patrons for recreation programs utilizing the Park District registration software, take payment, and provide receipts for all transactions.
- Follows proper cash handling procedures and policies.
- Observes all safety regulations in compliance with safety manual operation.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepares and balances daily cash journal reports with 100% accuracy and reports all discrepancies as applicable.
- Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of facility supplies, forms, and materials.
- Establishes good working relationships with staff, patrons, the community, and other governmental agencies within the Village of Addison.
- Keeps all work areas clean and well organized.
- Assists in facility general cleaning and organization when necessary.
- Assists in general office and administrative needs as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with and/or attends park district special events.
- Works with schools, sports leagues, and other organizations on special projects as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- General knowledge of word processing and general office operations.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Polish, Italian and/or Spanish)
Competencies:
- Aptitude to use a computer for e-mail, reports processing, and business operations.
- Ability to cooperate with and interpret Park District philosophies in relation to governmental, public and private groups or agencies, and to the general public.
- Ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees, patrons, community groups and other units of local government.
- Ability to utilize effective time management skills and be able to work under the stress of multiple deadlines, requests from others and interruptions, with accuracy.
- Ability to read and write in English and organize effectively.
- Capacity to maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, reaching.
- General work area is indoors, in a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting
- Occasional exposure to natural and potentially extreme weather conditions while attending to job related activities.
- Exposure to noise distractions from employees, patrons, or equipment operation in adjacent work areas.
Salary : $13 - $15
