Assistant Financial Controller

Title: Management Controller / Assistant Controller

Location: New York, New York – (Fully in office / On site)

Salary: $135K-$160K Bonus

Growing Boutique Private Equity Firm seeks New Assistant Controller to Join Their Team!

Responsibilities:

• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare journal entries
• Complete general ledger operations
• Review expense reports for accuracy and compliance with expense policy
• Monthly closings and preparation of monthly reports
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
• Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
• Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses

Performing financial recordkeeping, as well as protecting sensitive and confidential information.

End-to-end accounting and reporting with minimal manual intervention.

Preparing financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.

• Prepare Consolidated Management Company financial Statements
• Maintain company controls
• Automate processes / look for opportunities to improve efficiency across accounting & finance functions
• Prepare one-off reporting as requested by Senior Management
• Prepare materials for Operating Committee meetings
• Support FP&A
• Work with external tax partners on the annual Audit and Tax reporting for the Management Company
• Contributing to various special projects including capital transactions, acquisitions, and process improvements to improve overall group efficiencies
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Expectations:

CPA Designation Required

2 Years of Public Accounting Experience

2 Years of PE Fund Accounting preferably in a Management Company Accounting Environment (Consolidation / Multi Currency)

Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills

Experience with Sage/ Intacct accounting GL system software a plus
