Growing HVAC Company is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead their team!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Team Management: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, including both local and overseas staff.
- Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept through launch, ensuring innovative, efficient, and cost-effective HVAC & Thermal Systems Engineering and Manufacturing
- New Product Innovation: Spearhead new product development initiatives to meet market demands and align with business objectives.
- Global Collaboration: Coordinate with international partners in Asia and domestic stakeholders to optimize product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain efficiency.
- Design & Modeling: Oversee product design, system and component modeling, performance simulation, and prototype development.
- Testing & Analysis: Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and external vendors to meet technical specifications and business goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage product certifications and compliance, including AHRI, DOE, ETL, UL, and other relevant standards.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives for existing and new product lines without compromising quality or performance.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Ensure thorough documentation of design processes and establish robust quality assurance protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years in HVAC engineering and product development, with a focus on water-source and air-cooled products.
- In-depth knowledge of terminal HVAC systems, including refrigeration components, air handling systems, wiring and controls, sheet metal design, piping, and valves.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, and similar engineering tools, with an understanding of AI-powered tools for design automation, performance modeling, and predictive maintenance.
- Experience working with international teams and suppliers, particularly in Asia.
- Domestic and international travel required (approximately 5-10%).
