Summary :
The Managing Director Engineering & Operations is responsible for directing the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include providing leadership, direction and vision to the HR, IT, Finance, Internal Sales and Purchasing Departments. Responsible for the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
General Description :
- Assist the President in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives; evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs / strategies and regulatory action.
- Participate in the development of the companys plans and programs as a strategic partner
- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place to mitigate risk, and report potential or known risks to the president and board of directors
- Monitor and direct the capital request and budgeting processes
- Develop and monitor financial and tax strategies
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors, group guidelines and government agencies
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
- Research, develop and present regional (AM-N) financial, strategic, and other information at company conferences.
- Mentor and coach commercial department managers in staff planning and development of their teams. Overall responsibility for management development and succession planning of the organization.
- Actively participate in management and board meetings, and establish / maintain credibility with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Optimize the handling of banking and insurance relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Assume special projects as defined by the President, Management Committee or Board of Directors
- Other duties as assigned
