POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving our additive manufacturing projects forward, ensuring successful execution from inception to completion. This position involves review of incoming customer requests, clarifying and updating requirements, and planning manufacturing flow from start to finish. The candidate will regularly communicate with customers and suppliers. This role provides the opportunity to develop strong functional knowledge in materials science, manufacturing, contracts, and business development. This role will be onsite at our Castheon business in Thousand Oaks, CA with travel to customers as needed.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead and manage additive manufacturing projects from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, materials, and quality assurance to develop and implement additive manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including schedules, progress reports, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to leverage expertise and resources for additive manufacturing projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in additive manufacturing processes and products.
• Support customer engagements, providing technical guidance, and addressing inquiries related to additive manufacturing capabilities and applications.
• Identify customer requirements, internal deficiencies to those requirements, and propose solutions to engineering and manufacturing management.
• Works with Operations and Engineering to Optimize production through ADDMAN group resources
• Gains access to additional volume on current programs within a customer though superior value and responsiveness
• Supports all program/project phases from beginning through completion.
• Supports RFQ/RFP response development, including coordinating preparation of quotes and proposals.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a complex product development environment with multiple priorities as well as a disciplined production setting.
• Must be able to resolve complex manufacturing problems and troubleshoot manufacturing / production systems.
• Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, Configuration Control, and ERP systems.
• Negotiates contracts and contractual changes to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.
• Collaborates across multiple levels of the organization.
• Define and document the project deliverables and the tasks needed to meet customer requirements while understanding and identifying all risks associated with each program.
• Review development, engineering and manufacturing plans and ensure cross functional integration and alignment.
• Identify and communicate to management the team, equipment and capabilities required to meet program deliverables, including any required outside resources that may not be appropriate for the company to perform.
• Lead the team during the life of the project through active communication internally and externally.
• Apply technical and functional expertise coupled with leadership skills and project management tenacity with an unwavering commitment to quality of work product and the evolution of our tool kit, ensuring the successful advancement of ADDMAN’s product offering.
• Understand Manufacturing and precision machining tolerances.
• Ability to analyze and understand engineering drawings, CAD models and detailed specifications, including GD&T.
• Review customer specification documents that are called out on the drawings, and research them for appropriate execution throughout the project.
• Collaborate with various departments including sales, customer service, production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in order bidding, and execution.
  
  

Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High attention to detail, and reading comprehension to fully translate specifications, customer contracts, and internal requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and customer service skills to build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Experience with logic linked scheduling, cost account management and budget management.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field, Engineering is preferred
• 3 years or more of technical experience in relevant discipline
• Preferred experience interacting with and inputting data into an Enterprise Resource Planning Software (ERP) and into a CRM system.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce CRM and Syteline ERP preferred.
• Proficient in the use of CAD systems or viewers such as SolidWorks, CATIA and NX to interrogate CAD models and associated annotations.
• Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
• Innovative thinker always looking for continuous improvements.
• Good team player works will with other can lead or be follow a leader as needed.

Work Environment

• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
• For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

• Sit or stand as needed.
• Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
• Proper lifting techniques required.
