Job Responsibilities:
- Engineering design and release of BOM’s and drawings in new equipment orders, rehabs, and parts orders or internally generated projects
- Run and organize small projects from initiation through installation
- Participates in the order review process, critique, and feed-back meetings
- Attends customer meetings as requested by sales
- Prepares work plan and resources requirements to meet job schedules
- Performs engineering calculations, purchased part selection and prepares specifications
- Oversees the generation of new or revised designs and approves the release of all required bills of materials and drawings
- Evaluates and approves or rejects all requests for engineering changes or deviations
- Establishes and requests weekly design/drafting service requirements
- Adheres to good mechanical engineering and design practices and assures conformance to applicable industrial standards and codes
- Assures completeness of job file and change/addition history
- Support technical service
- Support manufacturing
- BSME or equivalent experience
- Must have 3 years’ experience in design engineering experience, preferably in capital equipment industries
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with respect to the engineering and design of food grade processing equipment
- Working knowledge of welding and sheet metal design is desirable as well as material handling, heat transfer, air handling, and power transmission technologies
- Gas combustion and steam heating experience a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of design for assembly practices
- Must be CAD capable, Inventor/ACAD preferable
