Job Summary :
The Ädelbrook, Inc. Maintenance Technician, Level 2 (Intermediate) is responsible to perform all duties required to maintain the buildings, grounds, furniture, vehicles and other properties owned or leased by Ädelbrook, in accordance with OSHA safety regulations, agency, licensing, and accrediting agencies’ standards. This employee reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Tier level 2 is an intermediate level and should possess 4 years of performing related work.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Under general supervision and direction of the Maintenance Manager maintains all agency buildings and makes repairs as needed. Possesses specific skills in two or more of the following areas or a specialty as defined by agency needs :
electrical
plumbing
carpentry
heating and air-conditioning
welding
auto mechanics
small engine repair
Maintains agency property and equipment, including automobiles, vans, tractors, lawn mowers, snow removal equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc... Ensures cleanliness and orderliness within the Maintenance Department and offices.
Maintains agency property and grounds. Tasks include, but are not limited to : lawn care, shrub planting and care, snow removal, furniture repair, painting, etc… Assists in sanitation control, as requested.
Reviews all maintenance orders received. Independently provides services on those work orders qualified to perform. Refers larger, more complicated work orders to the Maintenance Manager.
Checks for broken locks, bulbs in need of replacement, damage in need of repair, etc…, at least weekly.
On-call duties may be requested.
Supervises, as assigned, part-time and temporary maintenance staff, including youth in residence assigned for work experience.
Displays exemplary role modeling at all times on the job and when in contact with the children being served.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications :
Minimum of High School Diploma or Technical School required and two years of experience in a comparable position or trade necessary to successfully fulfill skill requirements listed above.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to lift, bend, climb ladders, reach, stoop, and kneel in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance through the agency’s insurance carrier. Must be able to drive agency vans, automobiles, pick-up trucks, and operate other agency equipment such as riding lawn mowers.
