AMC Masonry- Mason Tender
Summary:
The Mason Tender supports masonry activities by keeping materials, scaffold, and other masonry supportive activities complete ahead of bricklayer’s work.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Stocks block, brick, stone, and other masonry units
- Keeps wire reinforcing, flashing, drip edge, veneer ties, control joint cross, expansion foam and other masonry accessories readily available when needed
- Mixes mortar and masonry grout
- Cuts masonry units
- Assists with installation of masonry grout and rebar
- Keeps work area clean and organized
- Lays out and builds scaffolding
- Cleans and maintains masonry equipment (grout hog, mixer, saws, etc.)
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform mason tending duties
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy units in a repetitive manner
- Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
- Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may require overnight stays away from home
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
