North Central Fabrication- Yard Worker
Summary:
The Yard Worker is responsible for loading & unloading trucks in the fabrication shop yard. The Yard Worker should work closely with shipping, purchasing, shop personnel & project managers for guidance on project priorities and delivery schedules. Strong communication with appropriate NCF personnel and ability to operate an all-terrain forklift.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Operate an all-terrain forklift
- Unload raw material from vendor trucks
- Load finished product on NCF trucks
- Responsible for checking inventory & delivery dates
- Maintains overall yard organization
- Assists shipping, purchasing, shop personnel & project managers as needed
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Occasional job site delivery
- Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform duties of the role
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Good knowledge of methods, materials and tools
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to operate equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
